Taco Bell Arena History
Taco Bell Arena is an indoor arena located on the campus of Boise State University. The
university broke ground on the arena in 1980 and it was completed before the 1982 basketball season. It hosted a number of
sporting events and special ceremonies during its inaugural year, including an appearance by Billy Graham that filled the
stadium to capacity. The arena was originally called the BSU Pavilion, but was renamed the Taco Bell Arena in 2004 after the
restaurant chain purchase 15 years-worth of naming rights. Over its three decades of exciting events, the arena has played
host to four Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournaments in the 1980s and early 90s and eight first and second round competition
NCAA men's basketball tournament games in the late 90s and 2000s. This venue continues to be a place that people in the Boise,
