        Talley's Folly was written in the late 1970s by Lanford Wilson. It's the second of three plays called The Talley Trilogy. The 97-minute production takes place in a dilapidated boathouse on the Talley's property in rural Missouri. The play is considered a romantic comedy, but does not start out that way. At first it seems like the characters aren't a match. Their quarreling and stubbornness¿especially on the part of Sally¿make this love story look more like a tug-of-war. But despite its unusual method, the play has struck a chord with audiences all over the country. Wilson even received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1980 for his work.
