2014 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Road Schedule

With the Bucs looking to reload and making another move in the NFC South, it's sure to be a season absolutely filled to the brim with electrifying runs, spectacular catches and nail-biting moments that will have you jumping out of your seat in no time. But even though home games at Raymond James Stadium are sure to be absolutely hopping with great fans who know how to show their support, the same will be true whenever the Bucs hit the field on the road. There's nothing better than watching your favorite team silence a home crowd on the road, but you're not going to figure that out sitting at home wondering what the atmosphere of the big game is like.

Out of all of the big road matchups, one of the biggest will be when they head to Carolina to take on the reigning divisional champs and quarterback Cam Newton, a matchup that will go down on Dec. 14. Luckily for Bucs' fans, however, they definitely don't have to wait until the end of the season, as there are other top-tier matchups throughout the season that will have plenty of fanfare. A Thursday, Sept. 18 game against the Falcons will certainly have lots of Bucs' fans in the stands, as will an Oct. 5 matchup against the Saints in New Orleans.

It's not only about the divisional rivalries, however, as the Bucs have a schedule filled with other road possibilities. A Sept. 28 game against the Steelers is sure to be a riveting matchup, as will a Nov. 16 game against the Redskins in D.C. and a Dec. 7 game against the Lions in Detroit. With so many great games this season, there has never been a better time to put down the remote, hit the road and make a Buccaneers matchup the centerpiece of a road trip as the Bucs look to get back in the thick of the playoff chase in the NFC South.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Info

With some major talent at quarterback and an explosive wide receiver corps led by Vincent Jackson, this is a team that can inflict some significant damage through the air – the same they did last year despite a few ups and downs. Jackson in particular has been rock solid, averaging more than 1,300 yards receiving through his first two seasons with Tampa Bay. Defensively, this team also looked much better in the second half of the season, a trend the Bucs are hoping to carry into 2014. With new head coach Lovie Smith, the Bucs are poised for a big turnaround this season in a division that is one of the most exciting in the entire NFL. Though it's not going to be easy with the level of completion they'll face, this is a talented team that has no intention of backing away from a challenge.

NFL Road Experience

When it comes to top quality football, nobody beats the National Football League, as thousands of fans flock to NFL stadiums across the country each and every week to see the best football players in the world hit the field and do battle. The competition on the field is always fierce, which makes for entertaining football that keeps bringing back fans for more. Make sure that you join the most passionate of fans in the stadium for a game this season, and you'll see why so many people are always looking to get out to a game. Of course, one of the biggest thrills a fan can have is to see their favorite team hit the gridiron away from home, as you'll see your team from a completely different angle that will likely have you keeping one eye on the road calendar from one season to the next.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers History

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers joined the league in 1976 and experienced a lot of tough years early in the team's history, though eventually things turned around eventually with the hiring of head coach Tony Dungy, who helped create one of the best defenses in the league. The Bucs would eventually win Super Bowl XXXVII under the leadership of head coach Jon Gruden, the year that stands out as the best in the franchise so far. But even though the Bucs have yet to get back to the Super Bowl, they've had some very exciting seasons since then as well, including playoff appearances in both 2005 and 2007.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Trivia

The Tampa Bay Bucs won their only Super Bowl under the tutelage of head coach Jon Gruden. How did Gruden become the coach of the Bucs?

The answer is that Tampa Bay traded for Gruden the year prior to winning the Super Bowl. It turned out to be a fantastic move, as Gruden was acquired from the same Raiders team that the Bucs would go on to beat in the Super Bowl in one of the more meaningful coincidences in NFL history.
