The story of Tarzan begins around 1912, when pulp adventure author Edgar Rice Burroughs published his first story about the character in a magazine. The Disney version of Tarzan focuses on his realization that he’s a man, and his relationship with Jane Porter, a woman who, along with her father, is marooned in the jungles that Tarzan lives in.
