Though it was originally intended to be a high school auditorium, its builders had more ambitious plans, establishing a cultural venue that has entertained and enriched countless numbers of citizens.

        The TD Banks Arts Centre began life when it was decided the local school district needed a high school auditorium for cultural events. But as the process of designing the venue went on, it expanded, and ultimately opened as a site dedicated to the entire city. It's first performance was the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I.
