Telluride Town Park History

All throughout the year, Telluride Town Park is the center of the community-- it provides venue space for small, cozy performances from local and national acts, civic center space for arts and yoga classes for locals, acres upon acres of open space for outdoor activities like fishing and Frisbee, as well as cultural and educational programs for kids and adults alike. When the summer months come along, however, Telluride Town Park transforms into a destination venue for the best music festivals in the state. The Telluride Chamber Music Festival has delighted audiences every August since 1973 with the intimacy, warmth, and tranquility that is synonymous with Chamber Music as they lift the human spirit through music. The Telluride Jazz Festival, sponsored by the Telluride Society for Jazz, celebrated its 36th year in 2013 with yet another legendary weekend filled with the soulful music of the Jazz greats of today. The best musicians of the past 30 years-- Muddy Waters, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, and Etta James-- have graced the stage at the Telluride Music Festival, so don't miss out on your chance to catch performances from the legends of tomorrow this year at Telluride Town Park.
