Tennis Band Background
Sometimes musical duos can fall flat, their lack of diversity reflected in their repetitive
sounds. This certainly isn't the case for Tennis, however, as this talented duo continues to crank out intriguing and refreshing
indie pop songs that will have you playing them on repeat all day long. Formed by Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley, this Denver-based
real-life husband and wife partnership has resulted in some of the most fun and buzzed-about music in the indie scene. The
two met in college while studying philosophy, and the kindred spirits knew that they were in for quite a life of adventure
together. After they graduated, they bought a sailboat and set out for the Eastern Seaboard, indulging in their love for adventure.
Time on the open seas must have really sparked their creativity, because once they came back to shore the duo started to write
and record their own music together, and the results were magnificent.
Tennis released their first EP, Baltimore, in
July. This extended play featured a couple of insanely catchy tunes, such as one of their most popular singles, "South Carolina".
After the buzz they received for their first release, the duo was excited to tackle their next project – a full length
album. They released their debut album, Cape Dory, in January 2011, and it caught the attention of many music critics, fans,
and professionals in the industry. It especially caught the attention of The Black Keys' Patrick Carney, who decided to produce
their second album, Young & Old. Together, Moore and Riley have been cranking out some phenomenal indie pop tunes and
putting on some knockout performances. As they head out on a major tour this fall, make sure that you are in the audience
