Thao Nguyen and Mirah are both indie-rock figures worthy on their individual fame - Nguyen as the frontwoman for Thao with the Get Down Stay Down and Mirah as a singer-songwriter - but this year, they'll be sharing a tour. Thao and Mirah are both up and coming names in indie-rock. San Francisco-based Thao Nguyen started as a folksy singer-songwriter and developed a backing band, releasing her first record in 2009. Mirah, whose full name is Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn, is a similar singer-songwriter that emerged from Olympia's music scene. She's been releasing records since 2000. They decided they were similar enough in taste and style that they started to record music together.
Thao and Mirah both have fans all over the West coast, but they're going to be crossing the country and ending up on the other side this year. See them when they bring their brand of music to New York's Music Hall of Williamsburg.
