While the Afghan Whigs have influenced more than their fair share of up-and-coming musicians, they,
too have been influenced by the musicians that came before them. This admiration for these icons of the industry has led the
group to cover a variety of artists during their live performances including The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Prince, The Fugees,

About the Artist
The band first
came together in 1986 in Cincinnati when vocalist and rhythm guitarist Greg Dulli, lead guitarist Rick McCollum, bassist John
Curley and drummer Steve Earle decided to collaborate. As Dulli's other band, The Black Republicans, faded into oblivion,
Dulli decided to focus all of his attention on The Afghan Whigs. He spent several weeks in isolation, coming up with the music
that would make up the Whigs' debut album Big Top Halloween. The album was released in 1988 on their own label. They only
pressed 1,000 copies, and one of them happened to find its way into the hands of music producer and co-founder of the Seattle-based
indie label Sub Pop, Jonathan Poneman. The label signed the group in 1989. They became the first band to record with the newly-formed
label, and in 1990, released their second album, Up in It. The album featured the hit "Retarded," and earned the band favorable
reviews and hoard of loyal fans. Their 1992 album, Congregation was also a big hit, along with a covers EP that featured songs
from acts like The Supremes. Their songs "Conjure Me" and "Turn On The Water" received airplay on MTV and they became one
of the new bands to watch. Then, in 1993, after signing with Elektra Records, the band released their most popular album to
date—Gentlemen. It struck a chord with teenage audiences and received positive reviews from Rolling Stone. Their songs
"Debonair" and "Gentlemen" received regular airplay, and "Fountain and Fairfax" was featured on an episode of the 90s teen
drama, My So-Called Life in 1994.
They continued to have success throughout the next few years, gaining fans both as
a group and in their solo work. And even though they were apart for several years, they are back and better than ever. For
the first time in 16 years, the band is performing their newest music and greatest hits for adoring fans all over the country.
