The Average White Band formed in the early '70s and is credited as being one of the few white groups to cross the line
of color and become highly respected as a funk group. The band released their debut album, Show Your Hand, in 1973 but really
found success with their eponymous 1974 album, which topped the Black Albums and Pop Albums charts.
