The Avett Brothers Background

The Avett Brothers is comprised of Scott and Seth Avett, Bob Crawford, and Joe Kwon. Both Scott and Seth grew up playing music together, but they didn't officially begin their musical partnership until the late 1990s. When the brothers' two different bands merged into one, it was the start of something incredible, and they released their debut EP in 2000. When they realized that they had so much potential by working together, the Avett Brothers started to hit the touring road and they also started writing songs for their debut album. They released Country Was in 2002, and with the fantastic songs on the album, the Avett Brothers started to develop a rabid following.

For the next several years, the Avett Brothers was one of the busiest and most prolific outfits in folk rock, and they continued working on releasing new music and performing on stages all over the country. In the late 2000s, the Avett Brothers really hit their stride. Not only did they score numerous spots on music charts around the world, but they also performed on television shows like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Late Show with David Letterman, and Late Show with Craig Ferguson. They even scored invites to perform at music festivals like Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Coachella, and more. In 2011, The Avett Brothers put on one of their biggest shows to date—a performance at the 53rd Grammy Awards that wowed viewers all over the country. No matter what stage they are on, the Avett Brothers can definitely put on an incredible performance, which is why you should act quickly if you want to score tickets to one of their highly anticipated upcoming shows.
