It is also roughly based on the 1978 film of the same name. Listen to some of his best releases like That'll Be The Day, Everyday, Peggy Sue and Oh Boy. The show also features works by other notable artists of the time like Richie Valens and the Big Bopper. Incidentally all three died in a small plane crash in 1959 and that day has since been known as "the day the music died."
