College basketball has plenty of great games on the schedule each and every season, from plenty of top-tier regular season battles to Tournament clashes that you'll have to see first-hand to believe. The Team

Against teams like Appalachian State, Elon and many more in the Southern Conference, the Bulldogs get to go up against some of the powerhouses of the conferences, but you can always count on the Bulldogs having some big-time talent of their own to always make it tough on the competition. Around campus, Bulldogs home games are always a big deal for students as well as for the supportive neighboring community, which is why you can always count on the stands having a great atmosphere absolutely packed to the passion and energy that you're just not going to find anywhere else. Once you're there watching the game get taken to the next level, you'll be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else.

The Citadel Bulldogs Trivia

Did you know that the Bulldogs first played collegiately all the way back in 1900?

After a brief stint that year, the Bulldogs once again got rolling in 1912, giving them one of the oldest college basketball programs that you're going to find anywhere. There is nothing quite like being there so you can soak up the tradition of excellence that fans have come to expect from this program, as you'll end up with an experience that you just can't find anywhere else. No matter how hard you try, you just won't be able to duplicate the experience.

The Citadel Bulldogs History

The Citadel Bulldogs play their home games at the McAlister Field House, an exciting arena that is always bursting with enthusiasm and excitement thanks to the strong program that clearly looks like it's on the rise in the conference once again. Playing for a while in the Southern Conference, the Bulldogs routinely have plenty of competition, which is something that isn't going away any time in the near future. The Bulldogs have had their ups and downs over the years, but it all came together for a great era of basketball under coach Norm Sloan, who led them to some big-time winning seasons in the late-1950s and early 1960s. These days, the faces are quite a bit different, but the tradition of winning and excellence is still very much intact, making McAlister Field House still the place to be if you're a hoops lover.

The Fans

For all the top-tier matchups at McAlister Field House, the Bulldogs will be digging in looking to pile up the wins and make a big move up the conference standings. The atmosphere at the big game isn't something that you can recreate anywhere but the stands, which is why you don't want to get left watching the highly anticipated matchup at the bar down the street. While we know that there are plenty of options for college hoops these days, including trying to watch the game on your fancy smart phone or just catching the highlights, actually being there with the other passionate fans is a guarantee to bring the experience to a whole different level.
