About The Artist
The Jacksons first became a group in 1964 after their musically-inclined
father noticed their enormous talent and musicianship. He began booking the group of brothers to perform at local venues and
compete in local singing contests. Their hard work and relentless rehearsing eventually paid off, landing the group coveted
performances at Chicago's Regal Theater and Harlem, New York's Apollo Theater. They won talent competitions at both locations
and impressed legendary singer Gladys Knight enough that she sent a tape of the boys to Motown Records. While they didn't
initially earn a deal with Motown Records, they signed a deal with Gordon Keith's Steeltown Records and released two singles
including "(I'm A) Big Boy." The success of their first singles led to an audition for legendary Motown executive Berry Gordy.
Gordy was so impressed with the group that he signed them almost immediately.
The Jackson Five were soon opening for
Diana Ross and recording their first big-studio single, "I Want You Back." Their single and their connection to Diana Ross
made the group an instant hit. By 1970, the group had topped the Billboard 100 charts and Jacksonmania was in full swing.
They continued to be a huge hit during the Vietnam War years, performing USO tours for troops all over the world alongside
Bob Hope and other big-name stars. Although the group's popularity waned in the 80s and 90s, they found that fans still couldn't
get enough of their classic tunes. They performed for special events and with their brother Michael, who had an iconic solo
career. Then, in 2012, following the death of their beloved younger brother, the Jacksons came returned to the stage for a
Unity Tour. Fans flocked to venues across the country, and the brothers soon realized that their star power had not diminished
over the years. Today, they are back in action and touring once more. Don't miss your chance to be there when this legendary
