About The Maine
Maine formed in January of 2007 in Tempe, Arizona, which is quite a different state than the one used in its name. At the
time, bassist Garrett Nickelson and drummer Patrick Kirch initiated the band's formation and brought on singer John O'Callaghan.
John O'Callaghan did not have prior singing experience but managed to impress the band's rhythm section during auditions and
was asked to join. The band also included Ryan and Alex Ross.
The band's first ever performance had quite the turnout
with 600 fans eager to see The Maine play. It was quite a show and led to more followers on MySpace, which is considered to
have played a huge role in getting The Maine attention and growing its fan base. The first release was an EP called Stay Up,
Get Down and was followed by another EP titled The Way We Talk. Both of the EPs were released in 2007 and were used to entice
its MySpace fans to keep coming back for more. The first album was released in 2008 and entitled, Can't Stop, Won't Stop,
was followed by a holiday release, And a Happy New Year, in December. The second full-length album, Black & White, sold
more than 20 thousand copies in the first week of its release. The band continued to grow and impress more and more fans.
the initial lineup released Stay Up, Get Down, Ryan and Alex left the band and were replaced by Kennedy Brock and Jared Monaco.
This lineup was the one that signed with Fearless Records, which is an independent, alternative-rock record label that was
founded in the early 1990s by Bob Becker. The label is known for its early pop-punk and post-hardcore releases. Early on,
the band toured with Good Charlotte and Boys Like Girls after the release of the first full-length album, which helped to
broaden its fan base. It was not until 2010 that The Maine headlined its first tour. The tour was called An Evening with The
Maine. The year after, The Maine took off on an international tour that took them to the Philippines and the United Kingdom.
The Mains Breakthrough
The Maine's third album, Pioneer, quickly reached the Billboard 200 and peaked at number
90. Having utilized the newness of MySpace and the perfect pairing with new independent bands, The Maine managed to jumpstart
a successful career. The most recent album, Forever Halloween, was released in 2013. Similar to the release before, it made
it to the Billboard 200. This time, they climbed to 39. The Maine sold over 10,000 copies of Forever Halloween in the first
week of its release. The Maine is expected to release its fifth studio album in November 2014. The band has been on a few
labels since Fearless. Some of those include: Rude Records, Warner Brothers, Sire, Action Theory and now is presently on Universal.
The Maine Trivia
The Maine's singer, John O'Callaghan, has put forward an interesting perspective on how he perceives
the work the band is doing and what makes art. He explained, "I think that is what is really inspiring about creating art,
in general, is that a billion people can paint a picture, but they can't paint it exactly how you have painted it and exactly
how you have envisioned it. So, I think it is the individuals, not only in music, but in life that refuse to compromise, refuse
to mold to what is popular or the surroundings, and stick to their gut. Along the way, that is the way inspiration and creativity
works." Audiences find that this sentiment is shared across members of the band and that it truly is what helps to make The
Maine inspiring to see play live.
The Maine Live Show Experience

one of the most exciting experiences. So many fans that discovered the band in what seemed to be organically on MySpace love
to see The Maine live, so tickets will certainly go fast at all of the wonderful venues across the United States during its

with Crytpic Rock, "You know I still can't even imagine that we are continuing to do what we do. We have been on the road
with so many different bands and actually been on quite a few of the Vans Warped Tours. Just to be able to still do it is
very surreal. It is very humbling. You know it makes us want to work hard."
