The Matches formed in 1997 as The Locals. Eventually, Yvonne Doll, a member of a different band with the same name, asked them to change there's. They switched to The Matches-but not without getting some revenge. Their first LP, released in 2004, was titled E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals, and announced the arrival of a talented young band.
