About The Misfits-"Last Caress"
The original lineup of the Misfits named the band after the last movie in which
Marilyn Monroe starred. Surprisingly for a punk rock band, the movie is a romantic western about an attractive divorcee who
falls for a cowboy, who later upsets her when he and his friends attempt to turn wild horses into dog food. Unlike the late
Marilyn Monroe, The Misfits continue to give audiences 30 years of performances. By this stage of The Misfits career, wild
horses couldn't keep them from playing shows. The Misfits tour across the globe with a new line up and songs new and old to
keep fans across the last 30 years coming back for more.
The Misfits Schedule- "Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill
The Misfits, hailing from New Jersey, started playing 30 years ago as part of the punk rock movement in 1977.
The Misfits has become a quintessential punk rock band for punks of all ages, while keep in mind that not all venues are as
punk rock as the Misfits and will not accommodate fans of all ages. That does not prevent The Misfits for continuing to keep
its music confrontational with an early rock and roll era vibe. The band has made its unique stage presence out of the magic
of cult nostalgia for the black and white B horror movies and the acclaimed "devil lock" hairdo that replaces the quaff in
a ghoulish punk rock meets monster pomade way. Put on your Misfits tee (yes, you can wear it to the show), your leather jacket
and give yourself a "devil lock," The Misfits are on tour and will be traveling across North America. This band epitomizes
the punk rock genre and provides all of which punk rock dreams are made… or the best nightmare you ever had.
The Misfits Breakthrough-"Die Die Die My Darling"
The original lineup of The Misfits included Glenn Danzig, who
separated from the band in the mid 1980s and later pursued a solo career. It took some time, but the founding member Jerry
Only resurrected The Misfits and produced a new album that was released in 1997. Quite quickly the regrouped Misfits found
loyal and new fans waiting with open arms and devil locks, as songs off the album were topping charts and finding play on
music television. The band found much success in the '90s and it continued to grow. It was clear that the band's early days
in the punk rock movement are what give it the upper hand and street credit it deserves.
The Misfits Trivia-
Firstly, did you know that in July 2014 there was the first ever Alternative Press Music Awards?
Secondly, did you know The Misfits played there? The Misfits played at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio for
the first ever award ceremony by the Alternative Press. Another interesting tidbit for Misfit fans is that there are now two
versions of the Misfits fiend that will be available to pick up before Halloween. Do you remember Halloween 1n the 1970s?
The Misfits remember Halloween and the 1970s. The second action figure will be donned in attire similar to the retro toys
of the '70s that set the stage for action figures.
The Misfits Experience-"Famous Monsters"
are one of those bands that has created quite the cult following that is comparable to the old films in which the band emulates
on stage and through its lyrics. There is even a "secret" group that refers to itself as the Fiend Club that is growing multiplying
faster than gremlins fed after midnight and definitely with more speed than any dead head could imagine. The Misfits have
made a huge impression on a number of people from across the globe and including artists and musicians who have found some
way to pay homage to the band. While bands such as Guns 'n' Roses and Metallica have covered The Misfits, there has also been
a tribute album that included bands like NOFX and Sick of It All. One will recognize fans of The Misfits by patches and tee
shirts marked with the "fiend skull." While it is not nearly as ornate and intricate as the candy skull that is presently
hep to have tattooed on one's flesh, it is the crudeness of the "fiend skull's" appearance that sits well with its audience.
The band is unique in its punk rock ethics to focus on monsters, vampires and other ghoulish subjects instead of social and
political issues — no matter the similarities one may find between ghoulish creatures and politicians. The Misfits plan
to have fun with its audience and boring them with what everyone can hear on the evening news is not it. The band continues
to sell out show after show, so it is definitely not the time to put off buying one's ticket. If you are keen on everyday
being Halloween, then get your tickets now.
