The Nutcracker Austin Cast
Casting for a stage show is extremely
difficult, as any casting director can tell you. Sometimes, when dealing with a show that has been adapted for film, many
folks tend to get locked into a certain way of thinking about an intellectual property like The Nutcracker. For example, the
1993 film production of The Nutcracker was the first exposure for many Millenials to this classic story, so it's no surprise
that when they think of the cast for The Nutcracker, the biggest names to come to their heads are those of Darci Kistler,
Damian Woetzel, Kyra Nichols, Wendy Whelan, Margaret Tracey, Gen Horiuchi, Tom Gold, Lourdes Lopez, Nilas Martin, William
Otto, Peter Reznick, Karin Von Aroldingen, Edward Bigelow, Heather Watts, Robert LaFosse, Bart Robinson Cook, Jessica Lynn
Cohen, Macaulay Culkin, Kevin Kline, Katrina Killian, Roma Sosenko, Michael Byars, Robert D. Lyon, and Helene Alexopoulos.
These talented performers did a great job in the film version of this show, but it's no substitute for seeing the original
on the stage, where performers are encouraged to bring their very best talents to the stage to dance and perform in this classic
show that has been delighting audiences for well over a century! So don't miss out on your chance to take in this amazing
show that's sure to kick off your holidays the right way, head to StubHub and secure your tickets to go and see The Nutcracker
on the stage when it comes to be performed by you!
The Nutcracker Austin Author
Has something been missing
from this holiday season? If the leaves are falling and the smell in the air is just right, it means that winter is well on
it's way, so prepare yourself for it's coming by getting into the Christmas spirit and seeing a production of The Nutcracker
when it comes to the stage near you! This popular show has been a staple of the holidays since it first appeared on the stage
over a century ago. Often credited with creating the story to begin with, E.T.A. Hoffman first released the written form of
The Nutcracker as a book in 1816. It was titled The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, and though the story would be praised by
those who read it, it didn't make any serious waves in the entertainment world. The biggest push towards the modern adaptation
of The Nutcracker came about by the work of Marius Petipa, Lev Ivanov, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky, who adapted this show for it's
first production on the stage. Though all future productions would be a lot closer to the 1890′s adaptation by popular
writer Alexander Dumas, the original, with a score written by Tchaikovsky, would be held to high acclaim simply for the composition
work done for the music. In fact, The Nutcracker Suite is often held up as one of the greatest works ever finished by Tchaikovsky.
So don't miss out on your chance to enjoy the music and fun that comes with seeing The Nutcracker on the stage by heading
to StubHub and securing your tickets today!
