The Nutcracker’s original story is still present on its ballet stage thanks to Marius Petipa’s (the original choreographer) first ideas about converting the story to a ballet. The story follows a young German girl who falls asleep during her parent’s holiday party and dreams that her beloved Nutcracker Prince (a recent present from a family friend) and the fierce Mouse King battle before the Nutcracker turns into a Prince and takes Clara to a magical land.
There is little coincidence that this ballet has become one of the most popular ballets to be performed, especially around Christmas time in Western countries. As such, the familiar music of the ballet oftentimes brings to mind Christmas cheer and good will even if it is heard in the midst of a warm summer’s day. Take your loved ones to see this beloved ballet this holiday season when it performs at the New York Stage Theater with your own holiday treat in the form of The Nutcracker tickets!
The Nutcracker tickets can now allow everyone who wants a chance to see this fairy-ballet live and in person. Set in two acts, three tableaux and composed in 1981 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, The Nutcracker is based on “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” a story written by E.T.A. Hoffmann. Since its first inception, the play paved a remarkable path for Tchaikovsky, who created “The Nutcracker Suite” before the ballet even premiered.
