The Original 7ven is known as one of the most popular funk-rock bands to emerge from the '80s, and is most often associated with fellow musician Prince, who recruited the artists to play with him on his early albums. After formation, the Original 7ven went on to have their own incredible career, scoring smash hits with songs such as "Jungle Love," "The Walk" and "Get It Up."
While the Time couldn't seem to break free from Prince's grasp for years, the newly incarnated Original 7ven have come to the stage with their own music and passion. The band went on hiatus through some of the '90s and '00s, but came back strong in 2008 to perform a set at the Grammy Awards alongside pop star Rihanna. With wind at their sails, the Original 7ven continues to release new music and head out on tour.
