About The Orwells
The Orwells are a Chicago-based rock band
consisting of vocalist Mario Cuomo, guitarists Dominic Corso and Matt O'Keefe, bassist Grant Brinner, and drummer Henry Brinner.
The band members formed while in high school, and they happened to attract the attention of music blogger Justin Gage, and
the band was later signed to his record label Autumn Tone. After finishing high school early, the band was ready to jump head
first into the music business. By August of 2012, the Orwells had released their debut album, "Remember When," which contained
their popular hit, "Mallrats (La La La)." Critics and fans loved the upbeat, garage-rock sound of the album, and they were
later included on MTV Buzzworthy's list of "The Most Criminally Overlooked Artists of 2012."
Following the whirlwind
success of their impressive debut, the Orwells returned to the studio to begin working on their second album. Their second
album, "Disgraceland," was released in June 2014, and it contains all of the in-your-face rock music that fans have come to
know and love from this band. With singles like "Who Needs You?" and "Dirty Sheets," the Orwells are well on their way to
becoming one of the biggest names in rock music.
The Orwells' Breakthrough Album
Comprised of teens just
out of high school, the Orwells exploded onto the rock scene with their impressive debut album, "Remember When," which was
driven forward by upbeat rock tunes like "Mallrats (La La La)." Following the success of their breakthrough debut album, the
Orwells returned with their second studio album, "Disgraceland," which was likewise a hit with fans. This exciting new band
has been catching the attention of the media lately, with their song "Who Needs You?" being featured on NPR's All Songs Considered
program, and the band also appeared on the British music television show, Later…With Jools Holland. The Orwells even
joined the Arctic Monkeys on tour for several shows.
In true rock-and-roll fashion, the band recently made their late
night American television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman by giving an absolutely stellar performance. It was
such a hit that they were encouraged to perform an encore, but guitarist Matt O'Keefe had busted all of his guitar strings
during the incredible performance. Now that the Orwells are kicking off a new tour, you will get to see all of the Orwells'
high-energy and crazy stage antics live in person during their next concert. With vocalist Mario Cuomo at the helm, this band
has all of the elements to become one of the next big rock bands, and you don't want to miss out seeing history in the making
when they perform at a venue near you.
