The Parlor Mob
The Parlor Mob initially got their start in 2004, and at the time they were playing under the moniker,
What About Frank. About a year after their formation, the band released an independent album and continued to play at local
clubs and venues, which allowed them to pick up a steady fan base. The band soon attracted the attention of record label executives,
and they signed a deal with Roadrunner Records. With the backing of a record label, The Parlor Mob went on to release their
first, full-length studio album, titled "And You Were a Crow." The 2008 album proved to be a great start for The Parlor Mob,
and it produced popular songs like "Can't Keep No Good Boy Down" and "Hard Times." Their music was quickly picked up by television
and other media, with "Can't Keep No Good Boy Down" appearing on the show Entourage, and the song "Hard Times" being featured
in video games.
By 2011, The Parlor Mob had released their second studio album, "Dogs," which proved to be just what
the band needed to help give them a more mainstream audience. With radio-friendly tracks like "Into the Sun" and "How It's
Going to Be," the album hit the number 5 position on the Top Heatseekers chart. "Dogs" was later named by iTunes' "Rewind"
feature as being the 2011 Rock Album of the Year.
The Parlor Mob is currently working on new material for their next
album, "Cry Wolf," which is slated for a release date in fall of 2014. In the meantime, the band has treated their listeners
to a sneak peak with their newest single, "The Day You Were Born," which has fans scrambling to see when the next live show
is. Much to the delight of fans everywhere, The Parlor Mob have in fact announced new concert dates in the near future, which
means you can hear awesome songs from their repertoire, and maybe even new material from their upcoming album!
Parlor Mob's Breakthrough Album
The Parlor Mob started to generate buzz on the New Jersey music scene during their
frequent appearances at local clubs and venues. After they had secured a record deal, the band released their breakthrough
debut album, "And You Were a Crow." The acclaimed debut release garnered the band the attention they deserved, with critics
and fans loving the band's 70s-rock feel. The Parlor Mob continued to bring the heat with their second studio album, "Dogs,"
which was likewise met with praise. Propelled by songs like "How It's Going to Be" and "Into the Sun," the band's sophomore
album charted within the top 5 of the Top Heatseekers chart, and the album was later chosen as the 2011 Rock Album of the
Year. In addition to their successful studio albums, The Parlor Mob's music has been featured on television and a number of
video game soundtracks, including MLB 09: The Show, Sleeping Dogs, and NASCAR 09.
