The story was originally told in a 1968 film that became a wildly-successful Broadway musical by Mel Brooks. The Producers is a story about a producer and his devious idea to make money on a disaster of a musical. Debuting on April 19, 2001, The Producers has amazed Broadway with its innovation and has claimed 12 Tony awards.
