The Raconteurs started when Jack White and Brendan Benson were spending time together during a hot summer and decided to write some songs. They put together a track called "Steady, As She Goes." The musical foray went so well that they decided to start a whole band, bringing it all together in Detroit. The band went on to release a few albums, including Broken Boy Soldiers and Consolers of the Lonely. Both critics and fans have praised the band for bringing back bluesy, folksy indie-rock.
