About The Band
Formed back in 1977, The Romantics are another one of
the reasons that Detroit, Michigan used to be known as an epicenter for great music, as they emerged from the punk rock scene
that the area was known for. The group quickly began to churn out singles with their distinct pop, rock, punk style that they
are still known for to this day, with singles such as "Little White Lies" and "I Can't Tell You Anything" setting the tone
for their future releases. They made waves on the scene with their self-titled debut album in 1980 which gave the world it's
first big hit by The Romantics, "What I Like About you". They followed this album up the very next year with "National Breakout"
and "Strictly Personal" the year after, but really hit it big when they released their fourth album "In Heat". This album
paved the way for The Romantics to become one of the biggest acts in the 80's and 90's. Well known for their amazing style
and awesome music videos, The Romantics live on to this day as a band that you don't want to miss.
From the very start of the group's career in the late 70's, The Romantics were churning out hit after hit,
even if the mainstream public didn't know it at the time. They were much more popular in Australia throughout the time of
their early releases the cover their initial singles as well as their self-titled debut album, which yielded the single "What
I Like About You" and was deemed an instant classic. So while they enjoyed a wealth of popularity around the glove, it wasn't
until they released their fourth album in 1983, "In Heat", that the group really broke through into the world of mainstream
music. With hit singles like "Talking In Your Sleep" and "One in a Million", The Romantics had taken off and were quickly
climbing the ladder of mainstream success as their songs received immense radioplay and had music videos that made the rounds
for years. Ranging from their first hit singles to their biggest album in 1983, there are plenty of reasons that The Romantics
became one of the biggest rock/pop-punk bands around.
