About The Romantics
The Detroit-based new wave band the Romantics rose to popularity during the
1980s, starting with their self-titled debut album that was released in 1980. Proving to be a great start for the band, the
album produced the popular hit, "What I Like About You," which charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and enjoyed heavy airplay
on both MTV and the radio. The song was popular around the world as well, with a number 2 position on the Australian charts
and number 12 in the Netherlands. With a new fan base due to the success of their debut album, the Romantics went on to release
their second studio album, "National Breakout," followed by "Strictly Personal" in 1981.
When the Romantics released
their 1983 album, "In Heat," they became breakout stars. The album reached the number 14 position on the charts, and it produced
the massively successful singles "Talking In Your Sleep" and "One In a Million." The song "Talking In Your Sleep" hit the
number 3 position on the Billboard Hot 100, and it even made it to number 1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. Charting well
