The Venue at Horseshoe Casino History
Originally coined the Empress Casino in 1996, the Horseshoe Casino was part
of a re-branding effort that took place in 2001. The original corporation was sold to Caesars Entertainment, formerly Harrah's
Entertainment, in 2010. The current casino facility was unveiled in 2008. The vessel boasts two public floors, featuring a
main gaming floor, two feature bars and a VIP lounge. The second floor contains more gaming accommodations, a 3,400 capacity
entertainment space and a buffet. The Venue is the namesake for Horseshoe Casino's entertainment space, which is also purposed
to host a variety of events. The 90,000-square-foot space is equipped with versatility to suit contemporary rock shows to
banquets and trade shows. A midnight Asian show, featuring Andy Hui and William So, launched its opening along with several
grand concerts that same weekend in 2008. The lineup included Smashing Pumpkins, Bette Midler, Mo'Nique and James Blunt. Over
200 shows were produced at The Venue in its initial three years and additional activities encompassed The Great Midwest Smokeout
and the Chicago Circuit Championship of the World Series of Poker. To get in on all the action at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino,
