About The Young Dubliners

After forming in 1988, the Young Dubliners rose to popularity in the early 90s when they began playing at venues throughout California. By 1995, the Young Dubliners had released their first full-length studio album, titled "Breathe." Their successful debut album included original works, in addition to their now-popular version of traditional Irish songs. The album produced singles like "Change the World" and "Mary," and the band later embarked on an extensive tour for the next couple of years.

The band followed up in 1998 with "Alive Alive'O," which was a live album that used recordings from their performance at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, California. The album showcased the band's skills as live performers, and it was a hit with fans. By 2000, the Young Dubliners had released their next album, "Red," which was their first release through the Higher Octave record label. "Red" contained popular songs like the instrumental track "Bodhran," and the album helped the band's continuing success. After embarking on a tour to support the album, the Young Dubliners found themselves gaining a new wave of fans when they joined Jethro Tull on tour. Jethro Tull's fans took a liking to the Young Dubliner's unique Celtic rock, and they saw sales of "Red" skyrocket.

The Young Dubliners returned to the studio to begin working on their next album, "Absolutely," which was released in 2002. "Absolutely" contained more garage rock influences, and it produced the popular singles "Knickers" and "Scream." After releasing "Absolutely," the Young Dubliners joined up with Jethro Tull again for another tour, and they later joined the bands Seven Nations and Great Big Sea to play during the "Uprooted Tour."

By 2005, the band released their album, "Real World," which was met with praise among music critics and fans. After returning home from a tour that followed the release of "Real World," they got started on their seventh album. Titled "With All Due Respect – The Irish Sessions," the album consisted of the band's versions of traditional Irish folk songs and ballads. Since then, the Young Dubliners have also released the albums "Saints and Sinners" and "9."

The Young Dubliners' Breakthrough Album

After releasing their 1995 album "Breathe," the Young Dubliners started to cultivate the unique sound that they are now famous for. With popular songs like "Mary," "Change the World," "Foggy Dew," and "Follow Me Up to Carlow," the band became one of the rising figures of the Celtic rock genre. The band continued to release albums in the years that followed, including "Alive Alive'O" and "Red." Their album "Absolutely" produced songs like "Scream" and "Knickers," with "Knickers" later being featured in a national ad campaign on television. The Young Dubliners have garnered even more exposure in recent years, with appearances on the CBS Early Show and on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Since their debut nearly a decade ago, the Young Dubliners have been bringing their unique Celtic rock music to the masses, and they are planning to rock the house of every venue during this year's concert tour.
