        Over her many years in the stage world, Wendy Wasserstein has been known for creating many strong female characters. Some of the plays in her well-known catalogue include An American Daughter, Uncommon Women and Other, The Heidi Chronicles and The Sisters Rosensweig. Just before her death, her final play, Third, was staged. Fans rushed out to get Broadway tickets and national tour tickets to experience her final masterpiece.

        The story of Third revolves around a female college professor Laurie Jameson at a school in New England. After stating that she wants her class to be open with her, Jameson gets more than she asks for when dealing with a good-looking Woodson Bull, III, who also happens to be an athlete. She thinks he is guilty of plagiarism, but begins to see her own prejudices through her meetings with him.
