About Thrill Kill Kult
The Chicago-based industrial rock band Thrill
Kill Kult got their start in 1987. Their debut album "I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits" was released in 1988, which
gained heavy airplay on college radio stations and in industrial dance clubs. The album included tracks like "Heresy," "Do
You Fear (For Your Child?)" "Universal Blackness," and "These Remains." They followed up with their sophomore release of "Confessions
of a Knife…" which produced popular hits like "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan," and "Rivers of Blood, Years of Darkness." Drawing
controversy with nearly every album release, Thrill Kill Kult's next album was titled "Sexplosion!" and the tour that followed
was equally as controversial. Shows were known to include sacrilegious elements, but this just added to the band's infamy
and popularity. In fact, "Sexplosion!" became one of their most successful records. The album's title song reached the number
10 position on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs, and their song "Sex on Wheelz" peaked at number 15 on the charts.
Kill Kult continued to release records during the following years, including "Hit & Run Holiday," "A Crime for All Seasons,"
"The Reincarnation of Luna," "Gay, Black, and Married," and many more. Their most recent release is "Spooky Tricks," which
was released in 2014. Their music also remains a favorite of various filmmakers, as their songs have been featured in movies
like "Sexy Evil Genius."
Thrill Kill Kult's Breakthrough Album
Thrill Kill Kult started to gain a following
on the industrial rock scene with the release of their first album, "I See Good Spirits and I see Bad Spirits." After gaining
heavy airplay on college radio stations, they were poised to become breakout hits. When Thrill Kill Kult released their album
"Sexplosion!" it was a huge success. The album spawned hits like "Sex on Wheelz" and the title track "Sexplosion!" The groovy
dance beat and catchy lyrics allowed the album's songs to fare well on the charts, including the Billboard Dance/Club Play
Songs and the Alternative Songs Chart. "Sex on Wheelz" was also featured on the Cool World soundtrack, and it charted again
at number 17.
