Toledo Mud Hens Schedule

When the Toledo Mud Hens are in the middle of a nail-biter, you'll see that there is nothing quite like being there so you can see all the action up close and personal. The Mud Hens have become the pride of the Toledo baseball scene for a reason, and it definitely isn't because there is a lack of excitement from game to game and season to season. Once you're there in the middle of an amazing game loaded to the brim with the stars of both today and tomorrow, with the buzz of the crowd rising in anticipation of an epic finale, you'll definitely be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else. As the AAA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, the Mud Hens always have a squad that can do a little bit of everything, giving you plenty of incentive to come out and see if you can spot the next rising superstar.

Just one look at the schedule and you'll see what all the buzz is about, as this is a team that routinely plays all the top teams in Minor League Baseball each and every season, bringing together a steady plethora of the stars of both today and tomorrow. From veterans trying to add to their game to rising stars looking to make a name for themselves, this is a top-tier team that is always in the middle of one great game or another, which is why it's always a good time to check the schedule and head out to see the excitement for yourself.

Toledo Mud Hens Team

This is a team that can do it all, with plenty of ballplayers who can turn the direction of a big game in a hurry as they look to once again be a big-time factor, but that's not always an easy thing considering the talent level that they'll competing against. But watching them at home just won't do this team justice, which is why it's always a good idea to put down the remote so you can see the action up close and personal as the Mud Hens storm the diamond in another intense season of Minor League Baseball filled with moments that you'll be buzzing about long after the final pitch. The Tigers have been one of the top teams in Major League Baseball for a while now, and a big part of that is having a farm team the caliber of the Toledo Mud Hens.

Toledo Mud Hens the Experience

When your favorite team is battling it out and the stakes are as high as they go, Minor League Baseball is a marvel to watch. Sure, you could watch from home, though there's nothing close to actually being there so you can actually feel the pulse of the crowd in a way that you simply can't from your living room. If you've never been to Fifth Third Field in Toledo to see the action first-hand, you have no idea what you've been missing, as this is a family-friendly atmosphere that tends to be as good as it gets around AAA baseball.

Toledo Mud Hens History

The Toledo Mud Hens were formed in 1896, and have played in almost the exact same spot in Toledo, Ohio ever since, bringing one thrilling season after another to the dedicated baseball fans in the area. The team was originally called the "Swamp Angels," because of the marshlands that surrounded the ballpark. A local bird called the American Coot was also a frequent visitor to the park, and was called a Mud Hen by Toledo residents. The press started called the baseball team the "Mud Hens," and the nickname stuck ever since. Today, there are even two team mascots who resemble the swamp-dwelling bird who go by Muddy and Muddonna, giving you just a little refresher to the unique and interesting history that backs up this franchise.
