About Tommy Emmanuel
native of Australia, Tommy would start playing music not long after he started walking. Before the age of five he had already

six years old. Playing in a family band, Tommy would see more of the Australian countryside before the age of ten than many
Australians do in their whole lives. The family band would fall apart when Tommy's father passed away, but Tommy's passion
for music would carry on as he continued playing music with his brother and entered various music contests.

would spend the greater part of the decade in a constant state of touring, writing, and recording. He would experience health
problems and have to take a break from recording, but Tommy's musical spirit could not be suppressed as he would soon be out
on the road again, keeping a constantly active and grueling touring schedule that would criss-cross the world. Today Tommy
has produced over two dozen albums and remains one of the biggest influences across the folk/country/blues genres.
Tommy's breakout album would be his debut record, appropriately named From Out Of Nowhere. The
album would introduce Tommy Emmanuel to the country and bluegrass crowd and be carried by his lasting hit "Limehouse Blues",
today still one of his most beloved tracks. He would follow up with the colorful Up From Down Under album which would integrate
country and jazz sounds into Tommy's style, making him appeal to an ever widening audience and pin him as a dynamic performer.
Hits from the album include title track "Up From Down Under" and much lauded covers of "Lady Madonna" and "Michelle", written
by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
By 1993 The Journey would drop, solidifying rock into Tommy Emmanuel's already impressive
repertoire of musical capabilities. The album would be carried by hits "Big Brother" and "Amy" and also feature longtime mentor
Chet Atkins playing guitar on the album. Years later, at the turn of the millennium, Tommy released Only, which received rough
critical acclaim but still produced interesting tracks including "The Robin" and "Padre".
