Austin360 Amphitheater History
Austin360 Amphitheater is a popular outdoor music venue located on the grounds of
Circuit of the Americas, a motor racing circuit in Austin, Texas. It first opened in 2013 after Circuit of the Americas struck
a deal with Live Nation to book big time concerts on the grounds. The venue was originally slated to be named Tower Amphitheater
but naming rights were sold to the Austin American-Statesman's website just before it opened. It was erected at the base of
the circuit's observation tower and has been able to draw in some of the biggest acts in the music biz to hit its stage.
Austin360 Amphitheater Events
Upon opening in spring of 2013 the Austin360 Amphitheater was an immediate hit
with the music loving residents of Austin. The venue has seen concerts by immensely popular musical acts including the Zac
Brown Band, the Lumineers, Jimmy Buffet, Jason Aldean, Dave Matthews Band, Wiz Khalifa, Mumford and Sons, the Avett brothers,
Rob Zombie, Miranda Lamberts, Maroon 5, and more. In addition to great music, Austin 360 Amphitheater has been known to put
on the occasional comedy performance by hit comedians like Dave Chappelle, Flight of the Conchords, Kristen Schaal, Hannibal
Burress, and more. Many of the biggest performing arts events to take place in Austin are held at Austin360 and StubHub has
tickets to all of them.
Austin 360 Amphitheater is located in Austin, Texas, which is known
as The Live Music Capital of the World and there are countless venues to explore so that no matter what kind of music you
prefer there is sure to be live music to suit your taste being played on any given night. The city was named after Stephen
F. Austin who is considered the father of Texas. While visiting Austin be sure to check out Zilker Park which is a favorite
tourist destination. Zilker Park has made its presence in Austin since the early 1900s, when the land was first donated by
Andrew Jackson Zilker. The park includes hike and bike trails, and is included on the National Register of Historic Places.
Perhaps best-known during one weekend a year as host to the huge Austin City Limits Music Festival, Zilker Park also sells
occasional sports tickets and tickets to other events, as well.
Austin360 Amphitheater Seating Layout
Amphitheater is capable of holding up to 14,000 guests. 5,240 of the seats are reserved seats up near the stage while the
rest are general admission lawn seats on a sloped grass field designed to make sure no views are obstructed. If you are looking
for an up close experience you may want to get the reserved seats, but if you are looking to sprawl out under the Texas sun
and walk around looking for friends general admission lawn seats are for you.
The Austin360 Amphitheater
opened with a Kenny Chesney concert in April of 2013 but two other concerts had previously been held at the location before
its official opening as a separate venue from the Circuit of the Americas. The first was by Collective Soul on November 17th,
2012 followed by a Clay Walker concert the next night. Both concerts were part of the United States Grand Prix.
