Train tickets - Train Tour

Train Tour Schedule

The all-American pop band, Train, is heading out of their hometown of San Francisco to a city near you. It is time to get your Train tickets now. The tickets for this successful band from the 1990s is coming to a town near you. While they are promoting new music with an upcoming album in September called "Bulletproof Picasso," there is a chance that old school Train fans might get to hear "Meet Virginia." It was by far one of the most important songs of the 1990s and one that everyone wants to have a chance to hear Train live no matter how many years have passed. Take this opportunity to see Train, whether you are an old fan or new. It is a show that you will not regret.

About Train

After spending years in a Led Zeppelin cover band on the east coast, the singer hit the road for California. It was in San Francisco where the band Train formed with Pat Monahan, Rob Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford, Charlie Colin and Scott Underwood. Initially, the group tried to get signed by Columbia Records, but it did not work out as expected. Instead, Train elected to independently release a self-titled album before hitting the road on tour. The band was opening for the big musicians of the 1990s and found its own success. Some of these bands included Barenaked Ladies, Cracker, Hootie & the Blowfish and Counting Crows. Train's first album included the song "Meet Virginia." It was a huge hit during that time, making it on to the Billboard Hot 100.

Train Breakthrough

The original members of Train were lucky enough to find mainstream success with their first debut album. It was the hit "Meet Virginia" that got everyone singing in 1998. The self-title album from which it came was what gave the band its national fame and was even certified as platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. It enabled the band to make its second album. The second album was entitled, "Drops of Jupiter." The renowned Brenan O'Brien produced the album. He worked with other important acts like Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band. It was before the release of the second album that the song "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" was released as a single. It was incredibly successful and spent 54 weeks on the Hot 100 and even won the band a Grammy Award for the Best Rock Song and Grammy Award for Best Arrangement. Paul Buckmaster, who has also assisted in arrangements for Elton John, assisted in writing the song. The album, "Drops of Jupiter," was the first multi-platinum album. One of the songs off the album was even featured in the film "The Animal." Train was such an incredibly popular band that they released a popular DVD of a sold out concert in their hometown of San Francisco. In the early 2000s, Rob Hotchkiss left the band due to creative differences. The third album, "My Private Nation," was released and was welcomed with similar success as the second. After the release, Charlie Colin left the band. Train's song "Ordinary" found commercial success by being placed in the popular film Spider-Man 2 and on the NBC series Heroes. The fourth album, "For Me, It's You," took place prior to the band taking a hiatus. After the three year hiatus, the band released the hit, "Hey, Soul Sister," off its fifth album, "Save Me, San Francisco." The hiatus worked wonders for the band, as the fifth album found similar success to its earlier albums. While on tour for the fifth album, the band wrote their sixth album, "California 37." It continued to find the success of the other albums. The band will release it's newest album, "Bulletproof Picasso," in September 2014. It also announced that Scott Underwood is being replaced by Drew Shoals.

Train Live Show

After Train's early success during the 1990s, there comes a lot of nostalgia for that era. While fans love the new stuff, there are so many Train fans that cannot get enough of hearing their favorites from that decade.

Train Trivia

The band discovered that an organization in New Zealand was using their song, "Marry Me," without authorization on the website promoting strong political opinions that did not align with the band. Later, the band was scheduled to play the Boy Scouts of America 2013 National Scout Jamboree, but the band decided to back out after controversy emerged regarding Boy Scouts and similar political views similar to the organization in New Zealand. What is impressive about Train is that the musicians have established a set of values and will not let an opportunity to play a gig compromise those values. Train released the statement that it "strongly opposes any kind of policy that questions the equality of any American citizen."
