Trenton Thunder History

The Trenton Thunder has had a long and storied history. The team formed in 1980, and was an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They were, at that point, based in Glens Falls, NY, and became an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox during their time in New York. But when the franchise moved to London, Ontario, the team took on the name London Tigers and played at Labatt Park. But in 1994, the team moved once again to Trenton, NJ, where they have established themselves as a huge powerhouse in the Class-AA and found a large fan base. So large in fact that in the first few seasons in their new home more than 400,000 fans visited the park, making them one of the most followed teams in the minor leagues.
