Trevor Hall Background
Trevor Hall was born in South Carolina
and raised on a steady diet of music. When he was just 11, he played harmonica alongside his dad. While in grade school, he
started to pen his own songs and played them locally. By the time he turned 16, he cut his debut album. Hall spent his formative
teen years studying at a boarding school dedicated to the arts just outside of L.A. During his time at Idyllwild Arts Academy,
he was exposed to spiritual rituals practiced by some people in India and yoga. He credits the school with inspiring him personally
and professionally. By the time his senior year came, Hall inked a deal with Geffen Records, launching Hall's career as a
Hall experienced overnight success, achieving milestones early on his career, like sharing stages
with high-profile artists like Michael Franti, Matisyahu, Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, Colbie Callait and The Wailers. But his
quick advancement on the music scene was embroiled in hurdles that clashed with his spiritual beliefs. To sustain his beliefs,
Hall took up residency at a Hindu ashram in Southern California. When he wasn't on stage, he chose to follow the philosophies
of a monk. Devoted to his music as much as his spiritual beliefs, Hall views the stage as his "moving temple." In 2013, after
a decade of road trips, Hall took a hiatus and journeyed to India for several weeks. When he returned, he took sanctuary in
the landscape of Maine and Vermont to work on his material for his latest album, Chapter of the Forest.
Trevor Hall currently has one EP out called, The Rascals Have Returned (2006). He also has three live albums:
Trevor Hall Live (2005); Alive & On the Road (2008); and Chasing The Flame - On the Road with Trevor Hall (2010). His
studio albums include: Lace Up Your Shoes (2004); The Elephant's Door (2008); This is Blue (2008); Trevor Hall (2009); Everything
Everytime Everywhere (2011); and Chapter of the Forest (2014).
