The Tulane Green Wave football program has a history that reaches back more than a century,
helping solidify them as a major staple of the community around New Orleans. The first organized game was played on New Year's
Day in 1890, and by 1893 the team was playing intercollegiate. And by the early 1900s, the team was already setting records
with rushing yards and touchdowns that still stand to this day. Since then, many memorable players have been a part of past
Green Wave football teams. Tulane has also made several college bowl appearances over the years at the Liberty Bowl, the Independence
