Tulane Green Wave Basketball Schedule

Each year as the college basketball season really begins to heat up there is no better place to be than in Devlin Fieldhouse, the New Orleans, Louisiana home of the Tulane Green Wave. Last season the Green Wave went 8-8 in their final season of Conference USA play and lost to Princeton in the first round of the CBI Tournament. This year Tulane is moving to the American Athletic Conference and will be reunited with some old rivals as they look to make a return to the NCAA Tournament by scoring some big wins during the conference regular season and making their way to the top of the conference standings.

The American Athletic Conference has already proven to be one of the best conferences in all of college basketball so the Tulane Green Wave faces a daunting task while making their way through the conference regular season going up against the likes of UCONN, Memphis, SMU, Cincinnati, Tulsa, Temple, and more. The Green Wave appear to have the right mixture of talent and experience to pull of some big upsets in order to build up a strong enough resume to hear their name called on Selection Sunday in March. The Green Wave will need all the help they can get from their home crowd at Devlin Fieldhouse if they are to be successful in their move to the top of the American Athletic Conference. Be sure to get your tickets to see the Green Wave at home from StubHub as soon as possible because they always sell out quickly.

Tulane Green Wave Basketball History

The Tulane Green Wave have been playing college basketball since 1905 and have made three tips to the NCAA Tournament, all of the in the 1990's. After spending years in Conference USA Tulane is moving to the American Athletic Conference and they will be hoping to establish themselves as a serious contender for the conference title. This is the start of an exciting new era for the Tulane Green Wave and you will want to be there in Devlin Fieldhouse to cheer them on right from the start.

Tulane Green Wave Basketball Conference

The Tulane Green Wave play in the newly formed American Athletic Conference which is also now the home of a few former Big East schools including the University of Connecticut and South Florida. The Big East has been in a tumultuous state for many years, with clashes between programs that had football programs and those that did not. The newly formed American Athletic Conference boasts schools from Texas to Florida and all the way to Connecticut. The dynamic conference has proven to be one of the best in men's college basketball since forming last year, with teams like Cincinnati and UCONN as perennial contenders. Cincinnati is the defending American Athletic Conference regular season champion, but the UCONN Huskies won the National Championship in 2014, bringing a National Championship to the conference during its first year of existence. Although it is only one year old there have already been changes in the American Athletic Conference, with the departure of Louisville and Rutgers and the addition of Tulsa and Tulane. With the American Athletic Conference shakeup, things may look a little different on the college basketball landscape, but no matter which conference they are in, the Tulane Green Wave are a team with a storied legacy that continues to find success. Expect big things to happen in the American Athletic Conference in the years to come as new rivalries are established and it continues to prove itself as one of the premiere college hoops conferences in the country.
