The members of Two Door Cinema Club first came together as youths from Northern Ireland with a hunger for unique music. Their influences range from Modest Mouse to Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie and even Garth Brooks. From their instrumentation to their vocals, everything about their sound pushes the boundaries. The band first performed together when they were just 16-years-old on ATL Rock School under the name Life Without Rory. When Life Without Rory disbanded, Trimble and Sam Halliday formed another band. The band's unusual name came from Halliday's mispronunciation of a local theater called Tudor Cinema. He called it Two Door Cinema. Thus, the band's name was born. They gained a loyal following on Myspace and through local performances. Soon, they were releasing their first EP Four Words to Stand On in January of 2009. It was well-received by critics and fans. Their first musical project was self-produced and mixed by Ryan Mitchell. A full-length album followed their EP, and was an even bigger hit than their first project. Tourist History became their biggest hit, and earned them a spot on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The exposure helped create buzz for their third album and their upcoming tour.
