About The Band
Born in southern California
in 1989, Michael Stevenson (better known by his stage name of Tyga) has been making a name for himself on the music scene
around 2007 when he began locally promoting his mixtape and eventually passed it on to his cousin, Travis McCoy of Gym Class
Heroes. Not long after Tyga and McCoy performed on a remix to a Fall Out Boy track alongside the likes of Kanye West, Lupe
Fiasco, Lil Wayne, and others, which was so much of a success that Tyga himself performed the song at the MTV VMA's in 2007.
It was after this that Tyga recorded and released his debut single "Coconut Juice", which was a huge hit and climbed the charts
in no time. He released his debut album "No Introduction" the next year, but also received wild success with his debut mixtape
that came out in 2007. It was the mixtape that initially got Tyga signed to Lil Wayne's label "Young Money Entertainment",
and his next mixtape, "Fan of a Fan", released after his debut album was a huge success with a track reaching number one on
the charts and being nominated for a Grammy. His second album "Careless World: Rise of the Last King" was a departure from
the poppy sound of his debut, and instead taking on a much more rap style, and also did well critically and commercially.
He has since released a third full length album titled "Hotel California", touting a handful of hit singles that feature a
wide array of famous artists.
With all of Tyga's albums going on to become huge
successes, it would be easy to say that perhaps his debut album "No Introduction" would be his breakthrough album. However,
it's likely more correct to state that it was his mixtape that he recorded with Chris Brown, "Fan of a Fan", after his debut
album that delivered the biggest hits and had the most acclaim surrounding it. Featuring a wide array of guest artists such
as Lil Wayne, Bow Wow, and of course, Chris Brown, the mixtape charted incredibly well. The biggest hit single to arise from
the mixtape is "Deuces", as it hit number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs chart and number fourteen on the
Billboard Hot 100, and to top it all off was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
While many artists choose to represent themselves by their real name or a stage name that means something, there
are two different explanations for how Tyga came to adopt that particular stage name instead of something else, adding a sense
of mystery to the already entertaining Tyga. One explanation says that Tyga is an acronym standing for Thank You God Always,
but another states that he was simply called Tiger Woods a lot when he was young. In the end it doesn't really matter what
he calls himself or why, just that he keeps creating the music he has.
Putting on a live
show like you wouldn't believe, Tyga has had plenty of experience in performing to put on a live show that is guaranteed to
entertain. His live performances showcase his innate skills, ability and energy that simply can't be shown off in any recorded
material. You won't be dissapointed when you check out Tyga perform live, and why not make this event into one you'll never
forget by bringing along some friends to the show! You'll have plenty of new memories to cherish for the rest of your life
when you check out Tyga with some of your close friends, so make the right decision and be sure to get your tickets from StubHub
