About Tyler Ward
Tyler Ward hails from the mile high city
in the rocky mountain paradise of Colorado. He would grow up there and after finishing high school would play sports at the
USAF Preparatory School. Finding himself an imperfect fit for the armed services, he would enroll in traditional university
and begin to experiment in music writing, dabbling across musical genres and sculpting his signature acoustic style. While
in college Tyler became increasingly interested in music and eventually turned away from a possible career in journalism to
carry on with his passion for music.
Like many young performers of his generation, Ward would begin under the unassuming
auspices of self recording tracks and uploading them via social media hubs. His tracks would gain early popularity via YouTube,
and Ward would make a name for himself before even being looked at by major record labels.
Becoming an increasingly
established musician on the internet, Ward would make appearances on two of BillBoard charts for new artists, including the
Uncharted List and the Social 50 Chart. He would be invited to play the Academy of Country Music Awards and also perform on
The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2011, eventually embarking on one of his earliest North American tours.
His first official
EP would drop in 2012, and Tyler would finally forego his label as one of the biggest unsigned artists around by signing with
Sony Music. This would set him up for his first major record release in 2013, a hit album that Tyler is still touring in support
Tyler has put out a series of hits over the years, many of them collaborations
or YouTube sensations. One of his most memorable singles, the emotional "Some Kind Of Beautiful" would feature Lindsey Stirling,
a longtime collaborator of Tyler whom he has helped produce on his independent label Tyler Ward Studios. "Some Kind Of Beautiful"
has gained almost two million hits on YouTube. Tyler would work with Kurt Schneider to put out "Let Her Go", a single that
would garner six million views on youtube in less than a year.
Tyler would also gain recognition from Warner records,
who would recruit him to help generate buzz for the Hunter Hayes and Jason Mraz single "Everybody's Got Somebody But Me",
a track that Tyler would cover. Warner's publicity stunt would solidify the importance of Tyler Ward on the acoustic rock
scene as a major player with a huge following.
2012 would see the release of Ward's EP Hello. Love. Heartbreak., an
iTunes release that would lay the groundwork for his first full length, titled Honestly. The album would feature breakout
hits that would receive critical and fan acclaim alike, including "Beginning Of A Bad Idea" and "Keeping Secrets". Hot off
the release of Honestly, Tyler is hitting the road hard, bringing his music to tens of thousands of fans worldwide.
Tyler has established himself as an enabler of up and coming musicians via his Tyler Ward Studio project.
Through the project, Tyler works with up and coming artists to help them break out into the mainstream. Utilizing his knowledge
of both music and the hardships of being an on the cusp artist, Tyler's project takes musician's almost finished products
and polishes them for mainstream success. Jason has worked with a varied and illustrious clientele, including Jason Derulo,
Plain White T's, and Lindsey Stirling.
In his original recording days, Tyler would MacGyver his recording setup to create
his earliest songs. This includes utilizing a pop filter derived from his mother's pantyhose and a recording studio contained
entirely in an old, beat up PC.
