The UMass Lowell Riverhawks are in the right position to do well in the Hockey East during the 2009-10 season, if the
previous season is any indication. In 2008-09, they finished ranked fifth in the Hockey East, but outperformed their ranking
during the Hockey East Tournament. In the quarterfinals, they knocked off No. 4 Vermont and then went on to do the same
to No. 2 Northeastern in the semifinals. They lost to Boston University in the championship, and Boston U would go on to
