The American Airlines Center had the Guinness Book record for largest ribbon-cutting ceremony at the time.
Guests are expected to comply with the NBA Fan Code of Conduct. The gist: respect the players, fellow fans, and staff member at all times; no foul language, gestures, or images; no drunken behavior; no seat swapping; no smoking outside of designated areas; comply with all rules and regulations.
No outside alcohol. Alcohol is available for purchase, limited to 2 beverages per buyer for most events. Legal age (21) and proper ID are required. Sales stop before the event is over.
No professional photo equipment. Photo and video policies vary per event. Contact a representative at 214.665.4299 for the specific policy prior to an event.
TDD numbers, concession access, disability parking, emergency services, escorts, listening devices, service animals, and sign interpreters are available. To request assistance, visit guest services on-site.
There's merchandise available for purchase at kiosks and stores throughout.
There are first aid stations on the Plaza Concourse and Terrace Level. Medical professionals are available at all events. In case of emergency, contact the nearest staff member.
There are food and beverages available for purchase on-site. No outside food or beverages allowed.
For games, fan shops normally open 2 hours prior to game time, and gates open between half an hour and 1 hour ahead. For concerts, doors usually open 1 hour before the event. Times may vary.
Guest services is open from 1 hour prior to an event to 1 hour after. Services include wheelchair assistance, lost and found, and stroller/wheelchair check-in, among others. Contact guest services at 214.665.4535.
The lost and found is open 24 hours a day, and can be reached at 214.665.4825. Please turn in found items at guest relations. Items are held for 30 days. Contact any staff member for help with a lost item. The American Airlines Center is not responsible for lost items.

American Airlines Center reserves the right to confiscate items that aren't allowed and escort guests out of the premises.
For Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars games, there is no re-entry until the end of the first quarter/period.
There are restrooms on every concourse, and all are wheelchair accessible.
For basketball, there's room for 19,200 in the seating areas and 1,946 standing.
For hockey, there's room for 18,532, and for concerts 21,000.
No smoking in any public area.
No alcohol consumption or any type of cooking in parking areas. Open flames aren't allowed.
Proper ID is required for pick-up at will call. Leaving tickets at will call for third party pick-up may incur a fee of $5.00 USD per envelope.
