The Auto Club Raceway of Pomona is one of the largest and most famous drag racing venues on the West Coast. The venue was originally designed to be a place for 1950s street racers, those who would otherwise race their vehicles illegally on the street, to have a place to drive as fast as they wanted legally and safely. The venue is famous for hosting the Winternationals drag racing event.
There are several different seating options for spectators at the Auto Club Raceway of Pomona, which include the East Grandstands (the largest section of seats) the West Grandstands, the VIP Tower behind the starting line, and the TEC Grandstands. Currently, at max capacity the raceway can hold approximately 40,000 visitors.
