The Avalon was constructed in 1921 and is now owned by the Town of Easton. The Avalon is a memorable theatre venue that has hosted several firsts for world-famous actors and actresses, including Clark Gable#25;s first screen kiss, Bette Davis#25; first-ever psychotic role and Roy Rogers#25; first gunfight. The theatre has also hosted acts such as the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, the Celtic Tenors, Los Lobos, Mason Jennings and more in recent years.
The Avalon Theatre is a Maryland landmark and stands as the premiere place for performing arts events in the Easton vicinity. The 380-seat theatre is a breeding ground for local talent and often hosts theater, orchestra, music and film events throughout the year. The Avalon Theatre Box Office is open Tuesday thru Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located on the second floor of the theatre. Will Call is located inside the doors of the venue and opens two hours prior to events, while the theatre#25;s doors open 30 minutes prior to events. Wheelchair accessible seating is available, and all ticket sales are final. All major credit cards and cash are accepted at the Avalon.
