The Big Apple Circus got its start in Kent, England in 1974, when two of its founders were mere street performers with a dream. Moving from a curb-side juggling act to one of the most popular circuses in New York wasn#25;t easy, but by the end of the decade they were raising a tent in Battery Park. Since then, they#25;ve become a major attraction at Lincoln Center.
From street corners to the Big Top, the Big Apple Circus has had an amazing rise to fame#20;one almost as amazing as the daring and comedy of its performers. The circus has a large presence in New York, where it participates in various community service programs, as well as appearing in major televised events like the annual Macy#25;s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
