The Briar Street Theatre was formerly the stage for Marshall Field#25;s horses. It is renowned for being excellently designed and offers incredible sight lines and fine acoustics. In the past it has hosted several long-running shows including Driving Miss Daisy, Laughter on the 21st Floor, Having Our Say and Jackie Mason: Politically Incorrect. Currently it is home to the wildly popular Blue Man Group.
The Briar Street Theatre boasts easy access for handicapped patrons and also offers closed-circuit headset and occasional signed productions. The theatre has a seating capacity for 300 spectators and it also is equipped with state-of-the-art air conditioning which can help keep the building cool during the hot Chicago summers.
