The Canal Park was designed by Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. out of Kansas City, Missouri. The park broke ground in January 1996 and had its first game April 10, 1997 against the Harrisburg Senators. The stadium is home to the Akron Aeros of the Eastern League, while also hosting local events like high school and college baseball and the Akron marathon.
The Canal Park #28;Infield Outfitters#29; is the Aeros Official Team Shop for tickets. Ticket office windows are open game days 9am and close three hours prior to game time, otherwise Monday #19; Friday, 10am to 5pm; closed Saturdays and Sundays. Gates open one hour prior to all games. Children three years of age and younger do not require a ticket. Outside food or beverages are prohibited from entering the park. Will call tickets can be picked up in Ticket Office B, located near the corner of State and Main Streets; the window opens two hours before games. The park is a non-smoking facility.
