The Capitol Theatre was built in January 1927 as a vaudeville and movie house. The theatre was purchased by the non-profit Capitol Center for the Arts in the 1990s and renovated in 1995. It is the largest performing arts center in New Hampshire and annual features Broadway, ballet, country and western musicians from artists around the world.
The box office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 11am to 6pm and Saturday 11am to 2pm. The box office is open one hour prior to each show and closes one half hour after performance begins. No matter the age all patrons need a ticket. Cameras and recording devices are not allowed inside the theatre. Food and drinks can be purchased at the concession stands inside the venue.
