CBS Television City opened its doors in 1952 and was renovated in 1976, becoming the home for CBS executives and some of the network’s most popular television shows through the years. The Price is Right has notoriously been taped at CBS Television City for years, and soap operas The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful have also been taped at the venue. A shout-out to the venue is often heard at the beginning of shows as a voice-over announces “From Television City in Hollywood.”
CBS Television City is the heart of the CBS television station, and its Los Angeles location is the home of The Price is Right, Hollywood Squares, Politically Incorrect and The Late, Late Show. Tickets for a seat in the audience at any of these shows are free, but not everyone with a ticket is guaranteed a seat on the show. Entrance is on a first-come, first-serve basis among guests with tickets. The box office at the venue is open Monday – Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Age limits vary (from age 13 to 18) for different shows, and all age limits are printed on tickets.
