The Grant Street Dancehall went through a major renovation in 2006. When the outside of the building was considered, the decision was made to keep the historic feel and add to the historic Creole design with a large front porch. The inside was completely refurbished as well, adding modern comforts that were missing for years.
The Grant Street Dancehall represents the top music heritage of Louisiana. The building is more than 100 years old and was originally built as a fruit warehouse. After years with that purpose, it became the Grant Street Dancehall on Independence Day, 1980. Since them, it has housed some of the top names in music and continues to be a top entertainment location.
